How do music and events relate?
They are both creative, collaborative and have similar trajector of preparation and performance. They have the ability to move people.
Events have the added bonus of lots of spreadsheets and budgets.
I’m a corporate event marketer with thousands of events under my belt.
My passion is combining human-centered design and business strategy.
How’d I get here? Here’s the quick version:
Student Athlete ➤ Neuroscience Student ➤ Classical clarinetist ➤ Music festival organizer ➤ Director of Events at an Art Museum ➤ Events Manager at a Tech Start-Up.
As the Event Director at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts - I managed a team of 5 and hosted nearly 2,500 events during my tenure. We worked with Luxury Weddings, Tech conferences for the likes of WordPress & Better Up, and galas for big companies like Breastcancer.org and Virtua Healthcare. The event team became the organization’s primary driver of earned revenue and welcomed more guests to the Museum and its collection than the museum itself. I built up my reps on vendor management, complex project management, and communications.
Then, I got an opportunity to switch from the “vendor” side to the “planner” side. As the Marketing Event Manager at Crossbeam, a growth-stage tech company, I managed the entire portfolio and strategy of marketing events along with the $2M budget. I planned hosted conferences, virtual summits, 3rd party sponsorships, ABM motions, partner co-marketing efforts, and an expansion to EMEA. As the first event hire, I also got to build the systems of

I grew up going to the Adirondacks in upstate New York. My perfect day is by a lake with a quiet morning of coffee, afternoon swimming, evening family games, a bonfire with songs, and stargazing.

I went to undergrad at the University of Rochester and studied Brain and Cognitive Science and Music. I was lucky enough to have time for a study abroad semester in Barcelona. Then I got my Masters and Doctorate of Music at Louisiana State University. I lived in Baton Rouge, LA for 7.5 years. I met my now husband on the first day of school there!
